This shawl was created as part of a series inspired by the idea of treating the warp as a canvas. The starting point was not a specific motif or place. I simply wanted to work with colour — combining selected shades and seeing where they would lead me. As the weaving progressed, I began to notice associations with a landscape. Soft beiges and greys became a backdrop for blues, greens and rusty oranges. I did not have any particular place in mind, yet over time these colours started to feel strangely familiar. Like the other textiles in this series, Landscape grew from a simple idea but ultimately found its own direction. It is not a depiction of a specific location. Instead, it reflects an impression of a landscape that each viewer may interpret differently. It is also one of the longest shawls in the series. Depending on how it is worn, different parts of the composition come into view — sometimes calm and understated, sometimes rich in colour and contrast. In that sense, it reveals a slightly different character each time.
