This handwoven scarf began as an experiment with chance. Instead of planning the sequence of colours, I let a pair of dice decide. One die selected a colour from a prepared palette, while the other determined the length of each stripe. Every decision followed a simple set of rules, yet the final composition remained unpredictable. The palette consists of colours I was particularly drawn to at the time — olive greens, muted yellows, greys, browns and darker accents. Although their arrangement emerged partly through chance, the colours gradually formed a coherent whole. I enjoy working this way because it leaves room for surprise. This scarf is a record of many small decisions where control and randomness meet somewhere in the middle.
